The mission of the Newport Beach Sister City Association is to promote international communication and understanding through cultural exchanges, education and
friendship. This is accomplished by strengthening partnerships between the city of Newport Beach and its Sister Cities, increasing awareness and participation at the
municipal level, promoting cultural understanding, and motivating and empowering private citizens, city officials, and business leaders to conduct long-term programs of
mutual interest. It is with this Mission in mind that our board members approach the new year with renewed energy, new ideas, and a strong commitment to our
organization.
Membership benefits include first consideration for dignitary trips to our Sister Cities, invitations to special visits held during dignitary visits to Newport Beach, invitations to parties, dinners and cultural events held to commemorate international holidays and the opportunity to make new friends and lifetime memories.
In past years, our main focus has been the annual student exchange program involving our Newport students and students from our Sister Cities. Due to covid however, the
exchanges have been on hold While waiting to resume, we are working with our local schools to develop an on-line Zoom experience between students instead. In addition,
our anniversary celebrations of many years with Okazaki and Antibes are upcoming..
